Swaraj QR Code description:

waraj is a voluntary, non-profit organization aimed to reach our fellow countrymen who are in need of help. The idea to initiate Swaraj came up when a group of young, selfless and noble minded people working for ALSA Engineering & Construction Company - Abu Dhabi shared their dream, their inherent compassion and willingness to offer help to their fellow beings; rather the urge from within to help people who are badly in need of help. Swaraj was established by a few young men working for ALSA and hailing from a small village in Central Travancore. They started contributing a share of their income for charity. They started exploring genuine cases rather projects through trustable volunteers based in Kerala, who do the ground work to identify and locate the needy. Donations towards medical treatments, educational aid for financially poor students, pension scheme for elderly & frail citizens, financial support for self employment, monetary contributions towards the marriage of financially backward members of society and similar acts of fraternity started working out. Gradually the idea stormed the hearts of similar minded well-wishers from other parts of Kerala, working for ALSA and the decision to expand the organization cropped up. Hence the first General body of Swaraj was called in on February 5th, 2010 when it was decided to proceed further with more than one body of operation and decentralizing the operations according to the strength of members from various areas.
